Today was amazing! Got to start painting at last :)
Still was waiting for some pics from the Club, but decided to start on the pics I have got so I started with Riyad Mahrez. He's going ok, I didn't manage to finish today but hopefully by lunchtime tomorrow, and then I can start on the next one.
Here's where I got upto today, still have his beard, neck, forehead and quite a bit to do though...
I don't think I'll ever get over seeing that people are coming to watch me painting still.
It's so amazing, especially the words. A lovely guy came with his wife and kids today, he got quite emotional about it and was holding back the tears. I don't think I will ever be able to express what it feels like to have done something, and realise it affected someone like that. Happy tears!
And the blessings keep coming! Anyone who knows me, will know that when the sweet shop owner comes and says I can get my Diet Cokes and Bountys on the house! That's incredible! I think he wants his wall painting too tho!
And this is kinda interesting... to find walls to paint in general isn't that easy, what I've found now is that people are messaging me asking me to come an paint their wall, and I don't think they even mind what I might paint. I could stay in Leicester for months painting. Trying to understand that, after 2 weeks ago struggling to find places to paint.
I had the pleasure of being visited by the Police today!
We got photo bombed by Claudioooooo!
And then another Policewoman came past 10 mins later, we had a little chat about the fine line between vandalism and 'accepted' art on walls. I'm not sure exactly what the difference is, but I know if I just picked up my cans and went to another place and painted, the same Police saying amazing things about what I'm doing would likely nick me.
And that's when someone from BBC asked me to come and talk about that exact topic tomorrow morning! Does anyone remember the Fast Show, you know that guy who was always in the kitchen and told an amazing story and finished with...'which was nice'
Well, everyday something amazing happens in Leicester, the coincidences and things that happen where can literally feel a higher power has pulled some strings, are overwhelming at times.
My mate mate Junior came up from Wembley today to hang out, Juniors been great help to me with talking to the club and helping me get pics of the players. Another coincidence...he played for Leicester City!
I've tucked him into bed and he's watching Only Fools and Horses, yes...we are living LARGE lol
My song for the day...
Josh Milan ft Chieko Kinbarra-Just Like Love...
My Life is Sunshine and Rain, just like love, and in my heart is Joy and Pain, just like Love!
STILL haven't started painting yet, getting the right images is proving not that easy. But been dealing with the club and they've been great! I just need a few more and SO hopeful I can get them tomorrow morning, early...and then I can start to paint.
It's typical that the guy I want to paint tomorrow is one of the pics I haven't got yet, but patience is a virtue right? :)
Usually when I go and paint something, nobody knows...so zero pressure. So when I get a photo sent to me from an Italian newspaper with an article about me going back to finish the wall with all the players it's like WOAH...
but everyones support... it really helps me believe in myself! So I can't wait to get started!
I had to go to the wall today and measure up some things so I can work out how to fit everyone in, and while I was there (well, everytime I'm there) I just meet the loveliest people!
So today I met Elliot who came to have his picture taken with Claudio...
Elliot and his Mum April passed through to get a pic, I'm constantly amazed at this, its so amazing to have painted something and know that people could make the effort to drive somewhere to see. It's still a steady stream of cars and people, and everyone bar NONE is just so nice! There's a spirit here in Leicester really special.
I did really like this pic I saw as well of the girls from Fosse Dental Care representing!!! <3
And! BBC Leicester asked me to go for an interview that would be like a 'Desert Island discs' thing! That means talking about music right?! Do they realise if I go and do that I won't shut up! For me something like that doesn't come easy...but if you want to talk to me about music then I AM IN!
Todays music! I'm listening to a mix by DJ Neil Pierce, this mix is TOO good!
You can download it at the link below, if you like dance music at all and you put in your ipod/phone or whatever you will love this :)
So I woke up this morning, had booked into Holiday Inn Express next to the King Power ground (mostly because it's walking distance from Nandos) and thought I'd look out the window of my room and see what view I've got...
And this was the view! WOW! They even managed to get me a room for 3 weeks, they've been unbelievably kind!
Since I came up her last Thursday the amount of crazy things, coincidences and situations (great ones) has been something almost spooking me out daily. So today was raining hard all day, but I was camped outside the training ground on a mission to source some great photos so I can get started on the wall asap. The club have been great! And hopefully tomorrow morning I can pick up the images I need and then get started :)
Today I found out that on Monday a guy called Lee is getting the Claudio image and flag I painted tattooed across his back! WOW! So I ended up speaking to the Tattooist Nik at Blue Ink Tattoo and he invited me down to see it happening, that's going to be crazy!
(Blue Ink btw! So much Blue up here, so not sure if that's just another coincidence or everything's actually blue lol)
So I'm going to try and update this every day, with pics of what I managed to get done that day, or randomness/interesting things that seem to happen constantly since I came up her last week. I swear Leicester is TALKING to me!
Oh yeh, my music is so important to me, it's how I got here, so everyday I'm going to post what I'm listening to. And right now, STANDARD...it's a Dance Ritual, Louie Vega in the mix on HouseFM.net...
